  PROXIMUS 24 HOURS OF SPA: 24-Hours Parade.

When you arrive in town…

Grand première! This year, as in other years, the organisers (RACB) of what is still, and will remain, one of the major motor sport events in Belgium, are providing a few extra delicacies to supplement the main dishes.

The tradition is that, when the 24-Hour bell sounds, thousands of spectators make their way to the edge of the most beautiful circuit in the world to admire the modern-day cavaliers as they ride out on their no less impressive steeds (Ferrari, Saleen, Chrysler Viper, Lister Storm, Porsche, Nissan, Vertigo, Corvette, BMW, TVR, Lotus).

A few days before the start of the race, we had a rendezvous at the Spa Francorchamps track for a rather special day. On the track, fifty or so Saab convertibles awaited us. These open-top cars, each one more beautiful than the last, were ready for the off. The sun also came out to bless the event.

At starting time, the team drivers joined us and we climbed aboard these Saabs and headed for Spa, then on to Liège.


Today, it is these drivers who are on the road! Thousands of people cheer them along the route, flushed with pleasure at seeing them at the wheel, coming to visit them and inviting them to attend the trials and other races.

What a wonderful opportunity for these drivers to thank and encourage all motor sport fans in a truly delightful manner!

We would like to thank the RACB and Saab for attending this parade, as well as the thousands of people that lined the route, for contributing to the success of this exceptional day.
